Berkshire Hygienist Services

Oral hygiene is vital to your general health and your appearance.

PREVENTITIVE dental care

A key foundation of excellent dental care is oral health, which is at the centre of everything we do here at White Dental.

Excellent teeth and gum care helps to ensure that our patients enjoy a strong and healthy smile for many years.

The hygienists on our team are passionate about oral hygiene and gum disease prevention. They work hard to educate our patients on all aspects of dental care at home, for the best possible brushing and cleaning routines between appointments.

Dedicated oral disease prevention is essential when it comes to boosting the health of your smile, and helping you avoid common problems like gum disease and associated symptoms such as bad breath and bleeding gums.

White Dental encourages all patients to complement regular dental checks with regular cleans and hygienist appointments. We offer this in addition to your treatment from the dentist, or, in some instances, as individual separate teeth and gum maintenance.

Hygienist Treatment - Why Is It Right For You?

Even patients with excellent teeth and gum cleaning regimes can suffer from plaque and tartar build-up. This build-up can lead to the gums becoming inflamed and gum disease may follow. Teeth can also become stained from drinks like tea and coffee, which can cause your smile to look dull and less pleasing.

Regular hygiene cleans can help to stop these kinds of issues from getting worse, in particular, stopping gum disease from progressing. White Dental invites patients to consider booking in with their hygienist between dental check-ups, around every six months or more often if advised by your dentist or hygienist.

If you have the symptoms of gum disease, it is worth booking an appointment with us as soon as you can for assessment. The following are common signs of gum disease are:

  • Sore gums
  • Inflamed gums
  • Bleeding after brushing

If gum disease progresses it can also lead to the following symptoms:

  • Bad breath
  • A bad taste in your mouth
  • Gum abscesses
  • Receding gums
  • Loose teeth

Any of the above symptoms are a warning sign. If you spot them, quick diagnosis and treatment from the hygienist can prevent it from getting any worse.
