Invisalign: How It Works
There is no ‘one-size-fits-all’ programme with Invisalign as each and every patient is unique. However, there is a standard structure that will represent the majority of Invisalign journeys which involves the following steps:
1. Consultation
You will have a friendly consultation with us during your first visit, which enables us to discuss the treatment process with you. Together, we can create a plan of treatment to suit your needs and get started by taking a digital scan of your teeth to send to Invisalign. We will be able to show you 3D imaging of your smile as it is now, and how it will look after each set of aligners has been used. You’ll also get to see the end result on screen!
2. Aligners
When you next come to White Dental we will provide you with your first few sets of Invisalign aligners to use. We will also let you know how to maintain oral and aligner hygiene well.
3. Straightening
Every two weeks you will use a new set of aligners which will be worn at all times apart from when you eat, drink, brush and floss. Around every 5-6 weeks you will come in to see us for a review, to make any adjustments to the treatment required to ensure the alignment is going to plan.
4. Retainers
Once your treatment is complete you may need some extra aligners for any necessary detail work. At this stage we will discuss retainer options with you, so you can maintain the beautiful new straight smile you have achieved with Invisalign.
